When you make the COVER of Cosmopolitan France

I'm in Paris when I receive an email requesting that I go to a casting to meet Cosmopolitan France. I grab a coffee on my way and am walking from the underground to their headquarters. It's raining very hard and as I'm just around the corner from my destination, a delivery truck splashes mud all over me. REALLY? I thought, but began to laugh it off... typical London moment.

I am led into an elevator and sent to the top floor. I walk through the door and am immediately greeted. I handed her my model book and comp card and began to say, "Excuse the mud on my jeans. A truck splashed me on the way here...I think it's a nice touch, don't you?" The woman laughed and began flipping through my book.

She expressed her interest in me and was impressed with the fact I am health conscious both physically and nutritionally. She shares my book with others in the office. They say something in French and tell me they would like me to meet the art director. As I wait, we discuss my travels and love for fitness.

I am soon greeted by the art director when they begin to flip through the pages of my book. They again speak in French so I listen trying to catch some of what they are saying. I then hear the word "cover". My body froze. I feel a tap on my shoulder and am told "they are discussing having you as our next cover girl". My heart began to race and I couldn't move. I looked at her with such excitement and was then told they would be in contact with my agency.

Within 40 minutes I receive a text from my Paris agent telling me Cosmopolitan has put me on a strong option. I have tears in my eyes at this point as I am thrilled to be considered for their cover.

Having to travel to London, UK for a casting the following week, I was on the Eurostar express train sitting in the business class (quiet area). I feel a my phone vibrate and look to see a text from my Paris agent. As I open it I see, "Congratulations London! You are the next covergirl for Cosmopolitan France!!!" Tears rolled down my face and my heart began pounding out of my chest.

It was five in the morning back home in America so my family was still sleeping. I, of course, still tried calling to wake but no answer. I was able to get in touch with of one of my best friends who was studying abroad in Strasbourg, France. We squealed back and forth as I told her the news. I'm sure everyone sleeping on the train loved me for that.

When I arrive in London, I visit my mother Agency, Linden Staub. They hug me and pop a bottle of champagne to celebrate! I am so thankful to have these incredible women in my corner as I navigate this challenging career!

This is a moment I will remember forever. The September issue is on newsstand now and I feel beyond blessed and thankful for everyone that has helped me along the way.
