Holiday Season Foodie Addition

The other day I was asked how I maintain my weight during the holiday season with so many sweets around. Ladies and Gentlemen the key is... do NOT stress about it too much. If we want the cookie then have the cookie but don't eat the whole tray. The key is balance and making sure we don't overindulge. I am not a nutritionist but I know a few sweets over the holidays won't cause us to gain weight overnight. Stay focused, I know we can do it. Something I love to do is bake with my family and I've found some recipes I've been dying to make that are a healthier alternative below. Tag me on Instagram @londonolive1 with a picture of your dessert! Would love to see everyone try some fun baking this holiday.

White chocolate Popcorn:

This snack includes 2 ingredients...

- Tender White popcorn (Orville brand)

- white chocolate chips

Pop the popcorn in the microwave and then drizzle white chocolate chips over the popcorn when it is hot. Leave the chocolate to harden and enjoy! (not the healthiest but a fav easy holiday treat of mine )

Chocolate Peppermint Shake:

-1 cup coconut milk

-1/2 frozen banana

-1to 2 handfuls of ice

-1/4 cup oats

-a scoop of chocolate protein powder (I use 2 scoops of @fitwithcambrie chocolate)

- 1/4 tablespoon of pure peppermint extract

-1 tablespoon of dark/ semi sweet chocolate chips

Blend then add crushed candy cane on top & ENJOY

FWC Protein Cookie Balls:

Follow @Fitwithcambrie and @Londonolive1 on Instagram for more recipes with her amazing Protein powder. This makes about 8-10 balls. After rolling ingrediants into balls put in freezer for 15-20 min.

-2 cups of oats (I use quaker)

-1/3 cup of coconut oil

-1 scoop of chocolate or Vanilla FWC protein powder

-1/3 cup almond butter

-1/4 cup maple syrup

-1 tbsp of vanilla extract

-1 tbsp of cinnamon

Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal Cookies:

Start by preheating the oven to 350F and get out a large bowl for ingredients.

-1 large egg

-1/3 cup almond butter

-1/2 cup coconut oil

-1/2 cup honey

-1 teaspoon vanilla extract

-1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

-1/4 teaspoon sea salt

-1/2 teaspoon baking powder

-1/3 cup superfine almond or oat flour

-1/3 cup unsweetened shredded coconut

-3 1/4 cup old fashion rolled oats

-3/4 cup of finely diced red apple

-2 tablespoons of dried apple

-2 tablespoons of toasted quinoa

-Whisk the egg, almond butter and coconut oil until creamy and smooth. Add the maple syrup, vanilla, cinnamon, salt and baking powder. Beat until combined. -Stir in the flour, followed by the coconut and oats until everything is just combined. Fold in chopped apples. -Use a 1/4 cup to scoop out the dough and drop onto the parchment paper. Pat the tops down to flatten slightly. Sprinkle tops with quinoa if desired.

Bake for about 10-12 min till edges are crispy brown.
